Size Guide
Handmade rugs are woven in traditional sizes. Here is how to choose the right one for each room. All dimensions are approximate (±3%), because every rug is made by hand.
Living room
Choose a rug large enough for at least the front legs of every sofa and armchair to sit on it. For most rooms that means 160 × 230 cm or 200 × 300 cm. Leave 20-40 cm of floor visible around the edges.
Bedroom
A 200 × 300 cm rug placed under the lower two thirds of a double bed shows about 60 cm on each side. Alternatively, place two 60 × 90 cm mats on each side of the bed.
Dining room
The rug should extend 60-70 cm beyond the edge of the table so chairs stay on it when pulled out. A table for 6-8 people needs 250 × 350 cm.
Hallways and kitchens
Runners of 80 × 300 cm or 80 × 400 cm should leave 10-15 cm of floor visible on each side.
