Are your rugs really handmade?

Yes. Every piece is knotted or woven by hand on a traditional loom in Tunisia. Each product page names the atelier and we are happy to send a photo of the weaver at work.

Why do sizes vary slightly?

Handmade rugs can differ by up to 3% from the listed dimensions. We measure each rug before shipping and confirm the exact size on request.

Do the colours fade?

Vegetable dyes soften very slowly over decades, which is part of the beauty of an old rug. Keep rugs out of direct midday sun to slow the process.

Will the rug shed?

New wool rugs shed loose fibres for the first few months. This is normal and stops with regular vacuuming.

Can I order a custom size or colour?

Yes, most of our ateliers weave to order. Custom pieces take 8-12 weeks. Contact us with your wishes.

Can I visit the workshop?

Absolutely. We are at the Souk des Tapis in the medina of Kairouan, open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 18:00.
